About The Vedanta Kesari
The Vedanta Kesari, meaning the Lion of Vedanta, is a spiritual and cultural English monthly of the Ramakrishna Order published from Sri Ramakrishna Math, Chennai, since 1914. The magazine can be said to be a reincarnation of Brahmavadin, a magazine started by Sri Alasinga Perumal on 14 September 1895 with the inspiration and guidance of Swami Vivekananda.
True to Swami Vivekananda’s mandate and expectation, the magazine has been continuing with a rich collection of valuable articles on spirituality, religion, culture, values, and the tradition of the Ramakrishna Movement for over 11 decades! In addition to the regular 11-month issues, the magazine also publishes a special enlarged issue on a specific theme every December (since 1978).
This magazine is meant for those who are interested in Sanatana Dharma, Vedanta, and the teachings of Sri Ramakrishna, Sri Sarada Devi, and Swami Vivekananda and the legacy of the Ramakrishna Movement. The magazine also carries features for youth and children.

Guidelines for contributing articles to The Vedanta Kesari
1.The magazine deals with spirituality, religion, culture, values, holistic living, personality development, and the tradition of the Ramakrishna Movement. Any article on the themes mentioned above can be sent as a Word document to the Editor by email at vk@chennaimath.org. If you are unable to send softcopy of the article, you can mail a typed or handwritten manuscript to the Editor, The Vedanta Kesari, Sri Ramakrishna Math, Mylapore, Chennai-600004. Please mention the full name, complete address, phone number, email, and brief profile.2.Contribution of the articles should be as service, without expecting any remuneration. 3.Fresh articles not published anywhere else will be given first preference.4.Purely academic articles and poems are not encouraged.5.The recommended upper limit is 2,500 words for an article.6.Full reference (Sourcebook/article, author, publisher, year, page number) must be given for every citation/quotation. Internet references should include the author's name, website publisher, date, and full URL.7.The Editor reserves the right to accept or reject articles. He is entitled to request the author to modify or rewrite the article according to his guidance. He also reserves the full right to edit the manuscript as he deems fit, and his decision in editorial matters is final.8.While the authors can express their opinions in their articles, their language and presentation must be dignified and decorous. No abusive, sectarian, divisive, discriminatory, prejudicial, controversial, or political views will be permitted.9.While the Editor does not accept responsibility for the views expressed by the author, he may edit or remove objectionable portions wherever he deems fit.10.Articles published in The Vedanta Kesari should not be republished without written consent.
